MST Performance Induction Kit – Porsche 718 Cayman & Boxster 2.0 / 2.5
The MST Performance induction kit is a straightforward performance upgrade for the Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster, covering both the 2.0 and 2.5 turbocharged flat-four engines from 2016 onwards. It replaces the factory airbox with a free-flowing intake system designed to feed cooler, denser air to the turbocharger more efficiently – improving throttle response and freeing up a noticeable amount of power.
The factory airbox on the 718 is designed with cost, packaging, and noise regulations in mind, which means it can restrict airflow to some degree. This kit removes that restriction, allowing the turbo to breathe more freely. The result is a more immediate throttle response, a modest power increase, and an improved induction sound – that characteristic intake roar that gives the drive a more involving feel.

Performance Gains
MST Performance’s own dyno testing (rolling road testing used to measure power output) recorded gains of up to 12-14bhp on the 718. As with any intake upgrade, real-world results will vary depending on your vehicle’s condition, state of tune, and other factors. On a standard car you can expect a noticeable improvement in throttle response and engine sound. On an already-tuned vehicle, this kit complements existing modifications well and can help the engine make the most of additional fuelling or boost.
The dry pleated filter element requires no oiling and is easy to clean and re-use, keeping long-term maintenance simple.
