The Wagner Tuning Competition Intercooler Kit is a direct upgrade for the Audi A4 (B9) and A5 (F5) 2.0 TFSI, designed to keep intake temperatures under control when the engine is working hard. Whether your car is standard, lightly modified, or running a remap, a larger and more efficient intercooler helps the engine produce consistent power, especially in warmer conditions or during repeated hard driving.

An intercooler cools the compressed air from the turbo before it enters the engine. Cooler air is denser, which means more oxygen and a stronger combustion. The factory unit on these 2.0 TFSI engines is one of the first components to struggle when power is increased, so swapping it for a larger high-flow core is one of the most worthwhile upgrades you can make.

Why Upgrade the Stock Intercooler?

Compared with the original part, the Wagner Competition core offers a significantly larger frontal area and over double the internal volume. This translates into lower intake air temperatures, less heat soak between pulls, and steadier power delivery. The cast aluminium end tanks have been shaped using CFD (computer flow simulation) to spread air evenly across the core and reduce pressure drop, so the turbo isn’t fighting the intercooler to push air through.
